Wedding in a Winter Wonderland

A few weeks ago I was in a wedding at The Inns and Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, NH. The facilities, located in the historic Lakes Region of NH provide the perfect backdrop for a winter wedding. One great thing about Mill Falls is that there are many options so you can truly customize to your style and budget. In addition to enjoying gorgeous views of Lake Winnipesaukee, you and your guests can stay at one of 4 Inns and enjoy the quaint Marketplace shops and restaurants all within walking distance.

Fab 4 Less. At Mill Falls you save $1000 or more just for booking in the winter months. Check out the sweet winter specials they offer. Be sure to look into winter savings at other venues during winter months.

We stayed at The Inn at Mill Falls, the original inn that started it all. A restored nineteenth century linen mill, I couldn’t help my fix for all things vintage. Here is a pic of what looks exactly like the room we stayed in.

While our room didn’t have a view of the lake, we did have a beautiful waterfall outside our window.

If you want something more casual and rustic for a rehearsal dinner or bachelor party, entertain your guests at the Camp at Chase House or the Lakehouse Lodge at Church Landing.

If you want more of a traditional feel, go for Lago, an Italian restaurant overlooking the lake.

For the wedding, enjoy an intimate ceremony in front of the fireplace at Church Landing.

Lovely snowy photo ops…

Arrive via horse drawn carriage.

Now for fashion and decor…..in Silver and Black.

Bridesmaids would have either a silver or black simple, cocktail dress. This dress is an affordable $135 at David’s Bridal.

Bride is in a diamond white gown made by Oleg Cassini and is an affordable $650.

Groom and Groomsmen in a handsome, classic black tux. This one is from JCrew, but I am sure there are rentals such as this in your local area.

Jewelry and accessories for the Bridesmaids

Oval Chandelier Earrings from Express –  $29.50

Faceted Bead Stretch Bracelet – $24.50

Black Beaded Clutch – $14.00

Beaded Necklace- New York and Company

Starfish heel from Nine West – $79.00

A silver envelope with elegant black design and bow.

These tiny programs are made small to fit in a pocket or nicely in a clutch.

Set the silver and black theme with silver linens and black chivari chairs.

Add a romantic touch with centerpieces of silver branches and votive candles.

Greet your guests with place cards in antique frames.

For favors treat your guests to chocolates in small silver boxes.

For dessert… silver and black cupcakes. These are from Just Cupcakes in Virginia, but I am sure there is a local place near you.

What would you do for your winter wedding?

I am looking to use the branches for my centerpiece this winter. Where did you find the mosaic vases and branches?

    • Hi Courtni,
This pic is not from a wedding that I planned, but from a location of a wedding that I attended. You could contact the The Inn at Mill Falls 800-508-4598. Say you saw a post that had pictures from their website and see if they can let you know. Another recommendation for items such as these would be to look at Tjmaxx, Marshalls or Xmas tree shop. But I would think these wouldn’t be available until winter time. Also, you can check in with a florist for the branches. I know at an event that I was going to plan, we were going to use white branches and actually hang votives from them. I worked with Sebi at Sharon Elizabeth’s http://www.sharonelizabeths.com/ for that.

    Danielle!

Thank you very much for your help! I have found pictures of this vase and others very similar, but they are no where to be found! I have put a call into The Inn at Mill Falls, so hopefully they will be able to point me in the right direction!

    Again, thank you!

    Danielle,
Thanks again for giving me that information. I have left a few messages and have not heard back from them. Maybe because they don’t recognize my area code?! I’m not sure. I just wanted to let you know, I was unable to get the information for you too. I have contacted another individual about similar vases, but have yet to hunt down the trumpet style mosaic vases.

    • Hi Courtni,
I am sorry you are not having any luck in tracking them down. You can check in with a florist as all service florists would probably have centerpieces similar to this. You can contact Sebi at SharonElizabeth.com. He has been a good reference for me in the past. Again, I would say items like this are more than likely going to show up seasonally at a TJMax, Marshalls, Homegoods, or Xmas tree shop. But you may need to wait until they start getting the xmas stuff in. Which in most cases is going to be probably in November.
